The Government of West Bengal's Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Departments have announced the commencement of online applications for the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for the academic year 2024-25. These scholarships are accessible through the Online Application for Scholarship in Studies (OASIS) portal. Eligible male and female students can submit their applications via the official OASIS website, oasis.gov.in, starting from August 12, 2024. The OASIS portal facilitates the application process for various scholarships aimed at supporting the education of students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).

Application Process

Steps for OASIS Scholarship Application (Academic Session 2024–25) 


To apply for the OASIS scholarship, please take the following steps: 


Go to the Official Portal: Open the OASIS Scholarship Portal

Begin Registration: Click on the "Student Registration" option; 


Choose a District: Select the district related to your permanent address; 


Input Personal Information: Complete the registration page; 


"Submit" the Registration: When you finish reviewing the information you inputted, press the "Submit" button; 


Download the Confirmation Slip: Save the slip that indicates your login information; 


Log In to Complete the Application: Log in with the information sent to you to complete the application. 


Important Information: 

An OTR is Required: ST students must create a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal, before applying. 

Biometric KYC: SC students are required to complete biometric KYC for the session 2024-25; 

Application Close Date: The last date to apply is 30th September 2025
